Wilson signs with Nottingham

Former Merrimack defenseman Brock Wilson has inked a deal with the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League (Great Britain).

He has spent the last three years of professional hockey with the Stockton Thunder in the East Coast Hockey League, Flint Generals in the IHL, Albany River Rats in the AHL, then Augusta Lynx and Dayton Bombers in the ECHL. He split lastyear between Toledo and Utah (ECHL).

“I have known Brock for a long time, his father is former NHL player Rik Wilson, and Brock has lived and breathed hockey all his life,” said Nottingham head coach Corey Neilson. “The way our team is set up we needed a solid, stay-at-home defenceman to complete the roster and that’s just what he is. He plays mean and he ticks all the right boxes for me.”

Wilson is likely to take some classes at the University of Derby while in Nottingham.
